Jordan Wishner, LCSW, is a New York State licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and parents in schools, hospitals, and private practice. Specializing in developmental and learning differences, Jordan employs a unique and practical approach that combines various evidence-based treatment modalities with creativity, empathy, and confidence rooted in relational therapy. This approach aims to help clients understand their interactions with others and how specific patterns and dynamics can impact their emotional well-being.
In his private practice, Jordan focuses on providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults coping with a range of diagnoses, including ASD, developmental delays, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and complex trauma.and PTSD disorders. His interpersonal treatment centers around creating a safe, supportive environment during growth and change. Through his work, clients learn more about themselves, identify emotional triggers, and discover new coping and socializing methods. Jordan believes it is vital to give his clients the safety net they need to experiment in new social and emotional situations so that they can duplicate these skills in life. Jordan is also skilled in CBT, DBT, group work, gender and sexuality-affirming care, play therapy, attachment theory, family therapy, trauma-informed care, ABA, floor time, psychodynamic counseling, narrative therapy, and interpersonal psychoanalysis.
Jordan’s educational background includes a Master of Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and post-master’s certificates in Advanced Clinical Practice from New York University and Intensive Psychoanalytic Practice from the William Alanson White Institute. His professional experience spans various roles, including Director of Admissions and Assistant Head of School at Children’s Academy NYC, Social Worker at Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, and School Social Worker at Keswell School. Jordan has also presented at several professional conferences, including the NYC Special Education Collaborative Panel and the Association of the Advancement of Social Work with Groups Annual Symposium.
